I love Data Visualization. I love the constant challenges, the need for unceasing technical vigilance and creative flow in every step of the process — from finding objective truths in raw data, to molding that data to tell a compelling story, to telling that story through viscerally clear visualizations. My fascination with Information Design and Data Visualization arose from a lifelong passion for both the hard sciences and the creative arts. It is not only possible but crucial to demolish the artificial divisions between art and science — to find beauty in the technical, to analyze the beautiful, to seek the artist’s spark which fuels the crafting of an algorithm as well as the precision of a chemist when mixing two paints, or when shaping a rhyme.
